MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD
Message from the Foundation Chair
“People working together in a strong community with a shared goal and a common purpose can make what seems to be impossible, possible.”
As the new Chair and a three year member of Headwaters Health Care Foundation, I have discovered this statement to be true. Along with my colleagues around the board table, the foundation staff, and you, our donors and supporters, we have all witnessed what good can come of a community working together for a common cause – in this case, better community health care.
When I joined the board a few years back, the plans for a new ambulatory care centre and major renovation to provide more space for treatment at Headwaters Health Care Centre was simply that – a plan. Now today, as you read this, the expansion is built and the first patients are walking through the doors of this technologically advanced and cutting edge building and are experiencing what we, as residents of this community have all wanted and needed for a long time; even better health care, close to home.
As a life-long Caledon resident, I have always known the importance of community and getting involved to make the place I grew-up, live in and raised my family, the best place possible. Philanthropy and the idea of giving back has always been an integral part of my life, and I can remember as a child, helping my mom, local Chapter President of the MS Society, sell carnations for an annual campaign, knowing that these volunteer efforts were making a difference in the lives of those who needed help.
Throughout my 29 years with Brannon Steel, I have learned that being a corporate partner in the community not only keeps you educated and involved with your employees and customers, it provides an opportunity to share your success through resources for those who need it most.
As President of Brannon Steel, a husband, and a father of a young adult, I am now at a point in my life where I can spend more of my time, not only providing financial support to an organization close to my heart, Headwaters Health Care Foundation, but also volunteering to ensure that the successes and growth of this Foundation and the hospital it supports, continues.
I look forward to my time as Chair being spent helping to nurture current relationships in the community, create new opportunities for the future, and continue to educate people on what the Foundation is all about. Headwaters Health Care Centre is a great hospital, but together, we can make it even better.
On behalf of the Foundation Board of Directors, thank-you to everyone who has made a gift, organized or participated in an event, or volunteered your time. Every contribution takes us one step closer to fulfilling the medical equipment needs our hospital requires to serve you better.
Yours in Good Health,
Kirk Brannon, Chair, Headwaters Health Care Foundation
