Like most people, health has always been important to me.  My health, the health of my wife, children and loved ones, the health of my neighbours and everyone in my community.  That is why I am honoured to serve as Chair of Headwaters Health Care Foundation in support of enhanced patient care at Headwaters Health Care Centre.

We have all needed a hospital at some point for ourselves or our loved ones, and will no doubt need hospital care again someday.  And when we do, how much better will it be to have excellent care in a hospital close to our home and loved ones?  To have world-class diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up care provided close to home, close to family, and surrounded by the healing Friendship Gardens that Headwaters is known for, means having the best possible cancer care, close to home.

And the reality is that the vital medical equipment required by the hospital is not funded by the government.   It is up to all of us who live in Dufferin-Caledon to make sure that the care we all deserve is there for us when we need it most.

 Serving on the Board of Headwaters Foundation has shown me just how important excellent local health care is, how challenging it is to provide all of the funding required to maintain that level of excellence, and the impact that community support can have.

Fortunately, it has also shown me that we live in a community where generous people in the community are willing to reach out and contribute in a meaningful way, ensuring the health care team at Headwaters has the tools they need to provide the best care possible.
