Joan Burdette, Executive Director of Headwaters Health Care Foundation, earned her CFRE in 2000 and has been a fundraiser in the health care sector for 20 years. Joan was born at Dufferin Area Hospital and lives in Orangeville with her husband, Glenn. She and Glenn have one daughter, Courtney.

Along with strong community and volunteer support, Joan led the largest Campaign in Headwaters history, the $16M Commitment to Care Campaign. Joan practices a donor-centered fundraising philosophy. Growing up in a rural community she understands the value of volunteering and giving back to your community. Joan has volunteered most recently with the Canadian Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels.

Nicole Hand

Nicole has been working in the charitable, “social profit” sector specializing in fundraising ,event production, and educational programming for 20 years. After graduating from the University of Toronto, she began her career in performing arts and arts education and in 2006 made the jump into health care; achieving her CFRE designation in 2016. As the mother of 2 children, she understands the value and importance of exceptional local health care and considers it a privilege to be able to do the work she loves for her own community hospital.

When Nicole isn’t busy out in the community at an event, you will likely find her playing her favourite role of “Sports Mom” with “Live Theatre & Music Patron” coming in close second!

Meghan Cleeves

Meghan Cleeves is the newest member of the Headwaters Health Care Foundation team, having assumed the position of Administrative Assistant in October 2018. Meghan’s background is primarily within the hospitality industry, giving her over 10 years of experience in customer service. Meghan’s confident, positive and outgoing personality has made her a great addition to the Foundation team.
Meghan is looking forward to meeting all of our donors and building more relationships within her community.

Catherine Matzig

Director, Leadership & Planned Giving

Catherine is the Director, Leadership Giving at Headwaters Health Care Foundation. With 18 years’ experience in both health care and the performing arts, 14 of which she has spent as a member of the Foundation team, Catherine has invaluable experience in every aspect of fundraising. In her role at Headwaters, she works closely with donors to help them achieve their financial and philanthropic goals while making a positive and lasting impact on the health of their community. Catherine earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2009, and is currently a member of the Canadian Gift Planners Association. She believes the best fundraisers possess a sharp sense of humour and a well-honed attention to detail. An avid runner, Catherine has a passion for world adventure travel and gorgeous shoes.

Jennifer Sharp

Manager, Finance, Analytics & Stewardship Support

Jennifer Sharp started with Headwaters Health Care Foundation in 2006 and is the Manager of Finance, Analytics and Stewardship Support. Jennifer is responsible for all things revenue related and data management. Jennifer also works with the Finance, Investment and Audit Committees. Jennifer’s calm and confident nature allows her to work well with peers and volunteers.

Prior to joining HHCF, Jennifer worked for the Canadian Marketing Association, as Event Coordinator. Jennifer also worked at BrassRing Canada coordinating job fairs for the IT sector.

Jennifer currently volunteers with the Royal Canadian Legion as Membership Chair and sits on the Executive Committee.

Nicole Warren

Nicole Warren is the Coordinator of Digital Media & Office Administration at Headwaters Health Care Foundation. Nicole graduated in 2014 from the Advanced Marketing Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. Nicole presents a strong enthusiasm when working with all social media platforms and understands the ever-changing digital world. She has been able to transfer what she has learned and incorporate that into successful donor stewardship. Nicole has recently been bitten by the travel bug and whenever she isn’t at work she is either out playing hockey or training with her horse in Hockley Valley.
